The Work

Analysis that leads to action.

Script analysis should not trap the actor in ideas. It should give the actor a precise understanding of the circumstances, the relationship and what must be done to the other person. The workshop turns analysis into playable choices.

Given Circumstances

What is objectively true in the scene, what happened before it, and what changes now.

Needs · Objectives

Separating deeper need from the immediate objective so the scene has direction without becoming mechanical.

Actions · Beats

Finding playable actions and recognising where the behaviour, strategy or balance of the scene changes.

Relationship · Subtext

Understanding what exists between two people, what is not being said, and how that changes what the actor actually does.

Who It Is For

For actors who want to understand the scene before trying to perform it.

Useful both for actors building a stronger analytical foundation and for trained actors who want to revisit how they prepare material. The work is practical and connected to scene work, not an academic lecture on theory.
