What is H.I.T.

H.I.T. is one framework inside The Human Actor. It is designed to move the actor away from demonstrating emotion and toward truthful behaviour, real listening and playable action inside the circumstances of the scene. During the Masterclass, the methodology is explored through practical text, scene and camera work rather than explained as a formula.

What H.I.T. stands for is discovered in the work.

Deconstruction · Deep Analysis

The actor's process beyond the surface

You bring a prepared scene used as a starting point to observe the actor's process beyond the surface of performance. We begin to identify where control originates, where listening breaks down, and where the need for result replaces the truth of action. From this analysis, work on assigned scenes begins, selected from theatrical texts. Each actor works on two materials: a scene with a partner and a monologue. From text to dramaturgical structure, we explore story, needs, atmosphere, circumstances and relationships of the character. The work focuses immediately on human behaviour, on listening, and on building an organic process capable of transforming the scene from something to be executed into something to be lived.

The structure takes form

Starting from the assigned scenes, we begin to build the character's behaviour through needs, objectives, obstacles and relationships. Layer by layer, the work shifts from the idea of the character to their organic reality: no longer something to represent, but a human being who thinks, reacts and acts under precise circumstances. The focus is on building a living process capable of generating presence instead of external indications.

Action · When Structure Becomes Alive

Structure becomes flesh

On the third day, preparation is carried into concrete action. Through the practical work of The Human Actor, what has been built in the previous days stops remaining analysis and is tested in relationship, body and the circumstances of the scene. The focus is to make the work alive, specific and playable without turning it into a formula to perform.

Set Preparation

Where the work meets the camera

The work now meets the technical demands of the camera. Through different framings and set dynamics, we explore how body, behaviour and energy change in relation to the camera, learning to maintain listening, timing and organicity even under pressure. The day is dedicated to the concrete preparation of the scenes to be filmed the following day, allowing actors to face changes, sudden directions and technical adjustments without losing the truth of action.

The Set · The Image of Truth

Your performance on camera

On the final day, each participant works in a pair on one two-person scene prepared during the Masterclass. The scene is recorded in a focused professional setup, with dedicated cinematography and sound, and is personally directed by Raja Sethi. The aim is not to produce a short film, but to place the actor's work under the technical and creative demands of the camera: framing, continuity, timing, adjustments and repeated takes without losing truthful behaviour.

  • performers unwilling to be challenged, questioned, or taken apart.

The process requires discipline, openness, preparation, and complete presence.

Raja Sethi

Actor · Writer · Creator of The Human Actor

Born in New Delhi and raised in Tuscany, Raja Sethi has worked professionally in cinema since 2012. His training spans years of rigorous work across the Stanislavski tradition, the Strasberg Method, the Meisner Technique, and physical action approaches. His research was deepened through intensive study with Joseph Ragno, Adriano Davi, Susan Batson and Carl Ford, alongside years of investigation into the work of Stella Adler, Larry Moss, Uta Hagen, and David Mamet.

In parallel, he dedicated years to the study of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, embodiment, and emotional regulation. The result of fifteen years of investigation became The Human Actor, a system aimed at returning organic truth to the centre of acting.
