Testo e circostanze Text and circumstances
Il partecipante approccia il testo attraverso le prime quattro letture, per entrare nelle circostanze della storia. Si individuano gli elementi su cui ogni attore lavorerà nei giorni successivi, costruendo la vita del personaggio a partire dalle informazioni che il testo offre e dall'immaginazione. Prime improvvisazioni sulle circostanze della scena e su ciò che il testo rivela del personaggio. Ogni lettura ha un'intenzione chiara e individuale, che aiuta l'attore ad assorbire il testo. Si introducono inoltre alcuni esercizi di riscaldamento della voce e di rilassamento. The participant approaches the text through the first four readings, in order to enter the circumstances of the story. The elements each actor will work on in the following days are identified, building the character's life from the information the text provides and from the imagination. First improvisations on the circumstances of the scene and on what the text reveals about the character. Each reading has a clear, individual intention that helps the actor absorb the text. Some voice warm-up and relaxation exercises are also introduced.

Il secondo giorno diventa ancora più pratico. Si impara come si trovano i vari bisogni del personaggio, l'obiettivo della scena e l'ostacolo, usando il sistema The Human Actor, che offre un modo preciso di analizzare questi componenti fondamentali della preparazione. Si impara come usarli e agirli in scena, senza diventare una macchietta. Si inizia ad abitare il personaggio. The second day becomes even more practical. The actor learns how to find the character's various needs, the scene's objective and the obstacle, through The Human Actor system, which provides a precise way of analysing these fundamental components of preparation. They learn how to use them and act them out in the scene, without falling into caricature. The character begins to be inhabited. The actor gradually stops chasing emotional effects and starts working on what truly generates presence, listening and truth: essential in front of the camera.
Preparazione e immaginazione Preparation and imagination
Il terzo giorno è dedicato ad approfondire la base costruita nei primi due giorni e ad adattare l'interpretazione di ciascuno alle diverse inquadrature. Il lavoro si sposta sulle azioni psicofisiche e sulla preparazione dell'attore, e su come adattarle alla telecamera. Secondo questo sistema, le azioni servono ad approfondire il comportamento del personaggio, non a costruire una performance "fissa". The third day is dedicated to deepening the foundation built in the first two days and to adapting each actor's interpretation to the different shots. The work shifts to psychophysical actions and to the actor's preparation, and to how to adapt them to the camera. In this system, actions serve to deepen the character's behaviour, not to build a "fixed" performance.
Davanti alla camera In front of the camera
Le scene vengono portate completamente davanti alla macchina da presa. Il lavoro si concentra su presenza, calibrazione, continuità e comportamento in camera. Si capisce facendo come la macchina da presa amplifichi tutto: sia la verità, sia il falso. E si capisce dall'interno perché una preparazione organizzata sia fondamentale per un attore. I quattro giorni costruiscono una base solida per capire come si lavora su un materiale, con metodi pratici, e soprattutto aiutano l'attore a diventare consapevole dei propri strumenti e ad imparare un approccio che non è solo teoria. Interpretazioni vere e credibili non si costruiscono a caso, né solo con il genio dell'intuizione: serve un lavoro organizzato e mirato. The scenes are taken fully in front of the camera. The work focuses on presence, calibration, continuity and behaviour on camera. By doing, the actor understands how the camera amplifies everything: both truth and falseness. And they understand from within why organised preparation is essential for an actor. The four days build a solid foundation for working on material through practical methods, and above all they help the actor become aware of their own instruments and learn an approach that is not only theory. True and believable performances are not built by chance, nor by intuition alone: organised, targeted work is required.

Da questa ricerca nasce The Human Actor: un sistema che unisce tecnica attoriale, comportamento e comprensione dei processi cognitivi dietro una performance autentica. In parallel, he dedicated years to the study of psychology and applied neuroscience in performance.
